About

I am your companion to your internal transformation.

I am so happy you are here! Welcome to therapy. You’ve had a long road and trying experiences which have gotten you here and let’s face it…It’s exhausting! I'm sure you're tired of the rage, the guilt that your to-do list gets more attention than your family, the endless worrying about “messing it all up”, the wondering if you’re making the “right” parenting/life choices, and the internal battle of trying to break those intergenerational patterns that are just so darn difficult. I see you and I know it’s hard. My office is now your new favorite safe space. Your new home away from home. Our relationship will now be the trusted place for us to explore those scariest, deepest, and darkest secrets you have been carrying and hiding for so long. Let’s take time to lay down those hurts. We will spread them out like they heavy blanket they are. I’ll guide you with evidenced based tools that allow you to look at those hurts with a magnifying glass and compassionately process them so they no longer hold the same power. This process might not be easy, but neither is living the way you’ve been living. You are worthy of healing, worthy of compassion, and worthy of living the life you desire for yourself. Let me help you walk your journey, and I promise you will have a powerful internal experience. If your ready to make today the day you choose you, send me an email and I’ll be happy to help you take the leap! PS: Don’t mind me when I geek out on how fun therapy can be. There is just nothing better then baring wittiness to my clients make such impactful connections that are life changing! Specializations Women's Health Society often perceives the family building journey as one that is done with ease, but we know while this may be true for some, it is not true for all. This journey can foster symptoms of anxiety and depression. To some this could look like overwhelming rage, total feelings of loss of control, those startling "I'm just like my mother/father" moments, late nights replaying all the "mistakes" that were made. I focus on women's issues related to Maternal and Reproductive Mental Health. My areas of specialty include Motherhood transitions and difficulties. Prenatal/ Post-Partum Depression, Prenatal/Post-Partum Anxiety, Traumatic Birth, Miscarriage, infant loss, and Infertility, Adult Children of Parents with Diagnosed/Undiagnosed Mental Health Concerns Parents who have experienced their own trauma, while well intentioned may be parenting in ways which have many impacts on an adult child's life. These behaviors can affect areas including difficulty with trust, self-esteem, power, control, relationships, intimacy, feelings of safety, It can support symptoms of co-dependency and can leave the adult child feeling manipulated. I work diligently assessing how you have been impacted and help you address these areas to live a more independent and confident life while working towards a healthier relationship with your parent. Grief Grief for adults and children can come in various forms. Examples may include the loss of a loved one, recent medical diagnosis, or change in expectation for yourself/family member. My approach is culturally and religiously sensitive in addressing your specific loss. Together we will help address thoughts and emotions related to these changes and help establish ways to help you cope while honoring what brought on your grief symptoms. Trauma, Big or Small Significant life events can create difficulty for us within our lives causing us to become stuck. This can start symptoms of being easily startled, having difficulty feeling safe, difficulty with trusting yourself and others, increase in negative self-talk, lower self-esteem, unhealthy habits in relationships, and under or overexerting your control. By using cutting edge evidenced based approaches, I will assist you in helping you decrease the symptoms which are causing you to feel stuck and helping you get back to living the life you want! HOW I DO IT II take a person-centered approach and provide each individual with education about effective treatment to reach their desired goals. Together we can decide which treatment path will provide the most effective outcome for you to begin your journey to creating healthy change. It's my philosophy that counseling does not always have to be a somber experience. In my therapeutic approach, I often like to interject humor as I feel that laughing can have a powerful effect on healing. I will be your cheerleader to pursuing change. It is my goal to work myself out of a job, so you can become successful in addressing symptoms and function the way you desire! If you choose to pursue counseling, I look forward to walking with you on your path to wellness!
